About Sky Fu
Sky Fu, a gifted artist with unique visions and the skill set to turn those visions into reality, started his career at the age of 14. From Taipei to Kyoto to LA, Sky has traveled half way across the world discovering, learning and teaching the art of hair design and creativity. Since 2007, education has become large part of his life. Although he has always been sharing his knowledge with peers in the industry, it is not until after coming to the United States he realized that teaching and helping other artists not only bring him joy in life but through teaching others he was able to develop new concepts and teaching techniques.
Pin point and section:
Most hair stylists perform haircuts based on experience. There are some basic theories to follow but no systematic approach that works for Sky has developed a pin-point method which finely divides the subject’s head into small squared sections and quantify each section’s hair length to guarantee a consistent cut every time. This is much like how a satellites work in GPS’s. The idea is to go back to the basics start learning things the right way. Once a stylist gets used to this way of visualization, all cuts become easy and a trained stylist visualize the finished product before lifting a single hair.
Avant Garde:

Growing up in Asia, Sky lived his early life under the old Asian cultures which are heavily influenced by Buddhism and Daoism, and people believed in karma, reincarnations, and the returning to the root. Sky finds that there are limitations to how one’s hair can be sculptured and therefore most Avant Garde designers use synthetic materials to create more dramatic effects. Sky on the other hand, breathe new life into one’s cut-off hair by shaping it into creative designs and reattach them back to create the most natural yet mesmerizing effects. His techniques and open to share attitude has made him an uprising star in the industry.
Charity events:
A good looking hair cut brightens the day and builds one’s confidence. Sky, along with his team, has participated in many charity events giving free haircuts to children from the orphanage and handicap organizations. In his own word: “There is no greater reward than the smiles on the faces of these less fortunate children, knowing that I have done something to make them feel proud again.”
